Hamas, a militant Palestinian organisation, said on last Monday that Fateh Sherif Abu el-Amin, its leader in Lebanon, and a few of his family members died in an Israeli strike in the southern region of the country.
The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) reported that three of its leaders were killed in a hit that targeted Beirut’s Kola district, as Israel increases hostilities against Iran’s proxies in the region.
According to Reuters witnesses, the strike occurred on the upper floor of an apartment block. The Israeli military did not immediately respond. Fears that the war in the Middle East may spiral out of control and attract Iran and the United States, Israel’s principal ally, have been aroused by Israel’s growing frequency of assaults against the Hezbollah militia in Lebanon and the Houthi militia in Yemen.

Another militant organisation engaged in warfare against Israel is the PFLP.
After murdering the commander of Hezbollah earlier in the day, Israel began airstrikes against the Houthi group in Yemen and other Hezbollah locations across Lebanon on Sunday.
According to the Houthi-run health ministry, Israel claimed that airstrikes on Yemen’s port of Hodeidah resulted in the deaths of at least four persons and the injuries of 29, after missile assaults by the Houthis. Authorities in Lebanon said that on Sunday, Israeli airstrikes had claimed the lives of at least 105 individuals.
Without specifying the number of civilian casualties, Lebanon’s Health Ministry reported that over 1,000 Lebanese had died and 6,000 had been injured over the previous two weeks.
A million individuals, or 5% of the population, have reportedly left their homes, according to the administration.
Over a two-week period, the Israeli bombing has murdered several high-ranking Hezbollah figures, including Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, the organization’s leader.
Israel says it wants to protect its northern districts once more for those who have been forced to evacuate Hezbollah missile assaults, and it has pledged to continue the assault.
For a large portion of Sunday, Israeli drones were over Beirut, and the city of Lebanon was reverberating with the deafening sounds of fresh attacks. Families that had been displaced slept on benches in Zaitunay Bay, a row of eateries and cafés along Beirut’s seafront.
Israel has launched many strikes on the southern suburbs of Beirut or the south of Lebanon, which is home to Hezbollah, an organisation supported by Iran.
The incident that happened on Monday in the Kola area seems to be the first inside the municipal limits of Beirut. Residents of the region said that Syrians in southern Lebanon who had fled Israeli shelling had been camped out under a nearby bridge for days.
The United States has encouraged a diplomatic end to the situation in Lebanon but has also allowed its troops to reinforce in the region.
When asked if a full-scale conflict in the Middle East could be prevented, US President Joe Biden replied, “It has to be.” He said that he will speak with Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of Israel.
