The President’s representative to the Constitutional Council is Minister Vijitha Herath.
President Anura Kumara Dissanayake made this nomination, according to Speaker of the Parliament Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena.
Nimal Siripala de Silva, the former minister of ports, aviation, and shipping, has been removed from the Constitutional Council as a result.
Additionally, Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, the Prime Minister, has been appointed as a new Council member.

The Constitutional Council’s activities must continue until the new Parliament is formed, even after the Parliament dissolution.
The first meeting of the council after the election of the new President is set for October 9.
Former Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa, former Members of Parliament Kabir Hashim and Sagara Kariyawasam, as well as three representatives from civil society, include the other members of the Constitutional Council.
