It is against the law for any presidential contender to endorse another candidate while the election is still ongoing, the Election Commission has made clear.
The commission made it clear in an official statement that the candidates who have put in their nominations for the next presidential election are anticipated to run only for their own triumph.
“Presidential candidates are cautioned by the EC not to promote rivals.”
The statement further mentioned that there have been complaints filed claiming that certain candidates are breaking election regulations by supporting or sponsoring their opponents.
The commission issued a warning, stating that anyone discovered to be involved in such illegal activity—including those who are being pushed—will be prosecuted in line with election laws.
