During a political event in Kegalle on Tuesday, 10th, NPP leader and presidential candidate Anura Kumara Dissanayake said that the party has not welcomed any MP involved in corrupt acts.
Dissanayake emphasised that only the NPP was dedicated to politics based on policies.
“The only party that has refused to accept members of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) is us. We have not admitted any Member of Parliament who gained their position by inciting bigotry or aiding in the nation’s financial meltdown. Dissanayake stated, “This alone makes it clear who the good guys are in this presidential contest.”
“Says AKD, only NPP is clean.”
Dissanayake also addressed charges made by Sajith Premadasa, the head of the opposition, who said that he and President Ranil Wickremesinghe had a covert agreement. Dissanayake, however, claimed that the people surreptitiously meeting with the President were actually members of Premadasa’s own party.
“Two weeks ago, Thalatha Athukorala, who just joined Ranil’s side, and veteran Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) member Kabir Hashim met with Ranil. Together, we now have the chance to overcome those who have embezzled money from the state coffers,” he declared.
