At the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake, agents of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) deported a Chinese national who was the subject of an Interpol “Blue Notice” for widespread financial fraud in China.
According to reports, the 28-year-old Chinese national is wanted in China for allegedly committing significant financial fraud.

On September 3, he arrived at BIA in Katunayake from the Maldives. Immigration Department officials arrested him and turned him over to the CID officers at the airport.
Last Wednesday (04), he was deported back to the Maldives on an Emirates flight after additional investigation by the CID officers at the BIA.
