Today (06) is scheduled to be the third consecutive day that the Presidential Election 2024 postal voting will take place.
The official start of the postal voting for the 2024 presidential election was September 4.
Employees working in District Secretariat Offices, Election Commission Offices, Senior DIG and DIG Offices, SP and ASP Offices, Police Stations, Special Task Force (STF) Camps, Special Police Units, and VIP Security Divisions are eligible to vote by mail, according to an announcement made by the Election Commission.
“The third day of the presidential election postal voting has begun.”
Officers of the three armed forces, as well as employees of all other government agencies, had the opportunity to cast ballots both yesterday and today. Additionally, police officers who were not able to vote yesterday are now eligible to do so today.
Saman Sri Ratnayake, the Commissioner General of Elections, announced that postal voters who were unable to cast their ballots during these three days will have the opportunity to do so on September 11 or 12.
