Under his administration, Samagi Jana Balawegaya presidential candidate Sajith Premadasa has promised to do everything within his power to support the farming community.

SJB parliamentarians and members of related parties attended the demonstration.The discrepancy between the low prices farmers receive for their Samba, Nadu, Keeri Samba, and Kekulu rice and the higher prices consumers pay has been criticised by Sajith Premadasa, the SJB presidential candidate. He continued by charging that the rice mill industry was taking advantage of farmers and promised to take down the “rice mill mafia” on September 21st.
Premadasa pledged to resolve the problems faced by farmers by waiving their cultivation loans and offering long-term solutions.
He asked why hard-working farmers could not have their loans forgiven by the current administration but wealthy people could.
In order to establish a just market for farmers’ produce, the SJB Presidential candidate pledged to modernise agriculture with online services and transform the nation into an export-driven economy.
