The International Monetary Fund will be consulted further by the National People’s Power in order to create a comprehensive and efficient program that will reduce poverty and assist the most vulnerable groups of people.
During the unveiling of their manifesto for the presidential election, this announcement was made.
The National People’s Power also suggested in their policy statement that the current executive presidential system be abolished and replaced with a parliamentary one.

During the event, the Maha Sangha and other notable guests were given original copies of the manifesto by Anura Kumara Dissanayake, the party’s presidential candidate.
