The renowned Royal Military Academy Sandhurst’s demanding 44-week training program was successfully completed by Sri Lankan Officer Cadet Mohammed Aneek, who was then commissioned as an officer. The Commissioning Ceremony was held on August 9, 2024, during the Sovereign’s Parade, a cherished Sandhurst custom that signifies the end of rigorous training for officer cadets, the Lankan High Commission in London declared in a statement.

Officer Cadet Aneek’s remarkable accomplishment was personally congratulated by High Commissioner to the UK Rohitha Bogollagama, who was present.

 

209 officer cadets from different nations were commissioned during this Sovereign’s Parade. They have all completed one of the most difficult military training programs in the world. The parade marks the start of their military careers as Commissioned Officers in addition to the conclusion of their training.
