Yesterday morning, a 33-year-old constable from the Karandugala Police Station in Moneragala killed three people: a 42-year-old policeman, a 54-year-old woman, and her 17-year-old daughter. The constable then took his own life. At the time of writing, the motive behind the policeman’s murder remained unidentified; however, authorities stated that they thought the woman and her daughter had been killed due to a land dispute.

The shooting incidents happened in Namal Oya, Inginiyagala in Amapara, and Karandugala in Moneragala.
The police officers who passed away were assigned to the Karandugala Police Station located in Moneragala.The 42-year-old police officer was shot and killed early on August 4 at his Namal Oya home in Ampara, according to the police.
