Dhammika Perera, a member of the SLPP, declared yesterday that he was prepared to run in the upcoming presidential election should the SLPP request it.Perera stated as much during the opening of the Professionals Centre of the SLPP. MP Namal Rajapaksa, the SLPP National Organiser, was also in attendance.
“If the SLPP supports my candidature, I’m ready to run for president.” I’ll wait for their verdict and keep pushing for my win,” he declared.
“Dhammika is ready to run for president of the SLPP and is awaiting party approval.”
Perera stated that he was currently creating an economic programme and that his main focus was on growing the economy.
“After almost two years of campaigning, numerous political parties have failed to offer a comprehensive strategy for economic growth. In order to regain the public’s trust, a comprehensive economic plan must be outlined in the final ninety days, the speaker stated.
