The Sri Lankan Association in Belgium has made a financial contribution of Euro 17,600 to the ‘Rebuilding Sri Lanka’ Fund, which was established to support the restoration of livelihoods and the rebuilding of areas affected by cyclone Ditwah.
Accordingly, the relevant donation was officially handed over by Vice President of the Sri Lankan Association in Belgium, Nimal Jayakody, to Secretary to the President Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake at the Presidential Secretariat, on Tuesday (19).

The funds are expected to be utilised for the renovation of Gammaduwa Tamil Maha Vidyalaya in Matale, which was damaged by cyclone Ditwah.
This contribution from the Sri Lankan Association in Belgium was facilitated through the coordination of Matale District Member of Parliament Dinesh Hemantha Perera. The initiative also received the support of the Sri Lankan community in Belgium and the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Belgium.
