Minister Nalinda Jayatissa departs for Maldives to attend 21st Asian Media Summit

Minister of Health and Mass Media, Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, is scheduled to depart the island tomorrow (12) to participate in the 21st Asian Media Summit, which commences today (11) at Villa Nautica in the Maldives.

The 21st Asian Media Summit will be held in the Maldives from today until the 14th. A large number of participants, including policymakers, media organization owners, media professionals, communication researchers, and observers representing numerous Asian countries, are expected to attend.

In addition to representatives of the Maldivian government, many regional heads are attending this summit, including the Minister of Information and Broadcasting of Bangladesh, the Secretary General of BIMSTEC, the Secretary General of SAARC, and the Secretary of State for Social Communication of Timor-Leste.

Minister of Health and Mass Media, Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, is also scheduled to deliver the keynote address at the fourth session of the summit, focusing on media policy, public information dissemination, media professionalism, and communication responsibilities for the public interest.
