A false news story featuring the image of the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Land, and Irrigation, K.D. Lalkantha, is currently circulating on social media. These baseless reports and fabricated images are being created and shared across various social media platforms.

On the instructions of the Minister, his Media Secretary, Prasanna Rajanayake, lodged a formal complaint with the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) today (07) regarding this matter.

Action will be taken to conduct a fair investigation into the incident and to pursue legal measures against the individuals responsible for disseminating this misinformation through social media.
