During the event, CodeGen officials briefed the Minister on the vehicle’s advanced features, highlighting its specific design for emergency patient care and transport. The ETX is a cutting-edge electric three-wheeler locally designed and manufactured by Elektrateq, a subsidiary of Sri Lanka’s Vega Innovations.

Valued at approximately Rs. 3 million, the ETX can travel nearly 150 km on a single full charge and reaches a top speed of 70 km/h. It can be charged using a standard power outlet, while its fast-charging technology allows it to reach 80% capacity in under an hour. The vehicle is powered by a liquid-cooled LiFePO₄ battery system for enhanced safety.

CodeGen officials further informed the Minister that the vehicle is highly cost-effective, with a running cost of just Rs. 5–7 per kilometer. It is also equipped with air conditioning (A/C), a modern sound system, and four safety doors.

The ceremony was attended by Dr. Indika Jagoda, Director of the Accident Service, along with specialist doctors, medical officers, and nursing staff. Dr. Harsha Subasinghe, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of CodeGen International, was also present alongside other company officials.
