“New job sector in Japan opens for Sri Lankans”
Under the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) and the IM Japan Organization, Sri Lankan youth are being dispatched for technical internship training in Japan. In a significant development, the forestry sector has been newly added to the available fields of training, opening fresh opportunities for Sri Lankan applicants.
The first group of three young men selected for the forestry sector departed for Japan on the 11th. The ceremonial presentation of their air tickets was held at the Bureau, presided over by SLBFE Chairman Kosala Wickramasinghe.
In addition to forestry, training opportunities are currently available in seven other sectors. Six trainees specialized in the construction field also departed for Japan yesterday alongside the forestry group.
According to the agreement between the SLBFE and IM Japan, youth aged 18 to 30 are eligible to apply for the Technical Intern Training Program (TITP).
Proficiency in Japanese is mandatory; applicants must pass either the JFT or JLPT N5 level, both male and female candidates must pass the relevant skills test, Applicants must have appeared for the G.C.E. Advanced Level examination, Candidates must not have any tattoos on their bodies.
