Aloka Bandara, Secretary to the Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils, and Local Government, announced that all arrangements are finalized to hold the 78th Independence Day celebrations at Independence Square. He made these remarks while attending the official press conference for the National Independence Day commemorations held at the Department of Government Information.

During the briefing, Bandara further stated:

The ceremony is organized under the theme “Godanagamu Sri Lanka” (Build Sri Lanka).This year’s event will follow the same structural format introduced during the previous year’s celebrations. Approximately 2,000 guests are expected to attend the ceremony.
