The Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) states that the country’s official reserve assets increased by 1.1% in September compared to August.
Sri Lanka’s official reserve assets, which stood at USD 6.17 billion in August, rose to USD 6.24 billion in September, according to the CBSL.
These official reserve assets include the proceeds from the foreign exchange swap facility received from the People’s Bank of China (PBoC), which is equivalent to approximately USD 1.4 billion. The CBSL further notes that the usage of this swap is subject to certain conditions.
