The presentation of the Sannas Patra to the newly appointed Anunayaka Thero (Deputy Chief Prelate) of the Asgiriya Chapter of the Siam Maha Nikaya, the Venerable Narampanawe Ananda Thero, took place at the historic Magul Maduwa within the premises of the Sri Dalada Maligawa (Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic) in Kandy, at the hands of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.

The Venerable Narampanawe Ananda Nayaka Thero was appointed to this vacant Anunayaka post with the consensus of the Asgiriya Maha Sangha Sabha (Great Council of Monks of the Asgiriya Chapter), following the passing away of the Venerable Anamaduwe Dhammadassi Thero.
