It has been reported that the Department of Motor Traffic office, established within the premises of the Katunayake Bandaranaike International Airport, has so far issued driving licenses to 1,338 foreign tourists.

A counter for issuing driving licenses to foreign tourists arriving in the country for self-transportation convenience was established at the Katunayake Bandaranaike International Airport on the 3rd of this month. Prior to this, foreign tourists had to visit the Department of Motor Traffic office in Werahera to obtain a driving license.

The Department of Motor Traffic stated that 1,338 driving licenses were issued during the period from the 3rd to the 17th of this month, with the highest number being issued on the 7th.”
