According to the results of the General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level (2024) Examination, two hundred and thirty-seven thousand twenty-six (237,026) students have qualified for the G.C.E. Advanced Level. This was stated by the Commissioner General of Examinations, Mrs. A.K.S. Indika Kumari Liyanage, yesterday (11) morning at a press conference held at the Department of Examinations, Sri Lanka.
The Commissioner General of Examinations made this announcement after the release of the G.C.E. Ordinary Level examination results.
“Almost 74% of O’level students qualify for A/Level”
She also stated that thirteen thousand three hundred and ninety-two (13,392) students obtained 9 ‘A’ passes for all subjects. Furthermore, 73.45% of the total number of students who appeared for this year’s G.C.E. Ordinary Level examination have qualified for the G.C.E. Advanced Level. The Commissioner General of Examinations also mentioned that 2.34% of students failed all subjects.
The highest percentage of students qualifying by province is from the Southern Province, at 75.64%.
The pass percentages by province are as follows:
Western – 74.47%, Central – 73.91%, Southern – 75.64%, Northern – 69.86%, Eastern – 74.26%, North Western – 71.47%, North Central – 70.24%, Uva – 73.14%, Sabaragamuwa – 73.44%
