A special inspection visit was recently conducted to assess the progress and current status of the new seven anicut construction project near the Kalliadi Canal, adjacent to the Nandikadal Lagoon in Mullaitivu.

The inspection was led by Deputy Minister of Lands and Irrigation, Susil Ranasinghe, and included project field engineers, technical officers, and administrative officials from the Irrigation Department.

During the visit, special attention was paid to the current construction status of the projects, the progress of the structures, and any existing technical issues and safety measures.

The Deputy Minister held a direct discussion with the engineers and officials involved in the project. During this discussion, particular focus was given to future work plans, performance status, and adherence to deadlines.
