She stated that as she was preparing to leave the airport, having missed her flight, she heard about the accident.

Commenting on the experience, Bhoomi Chauhan said, “It was around 1:30 PM when I got to the airport… it was too late to join the flight. When I found out about the accident, my whole body felt numb.”

The Air India Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft, carrying 230 passengers and 12 crew members (a total of 242 people), began its journey on the afternoon of June 12 from Ahmedabad, India, to London Gatwick Airport.

Indian media reports indicate that the death toll from this terrible plane crash has risen to 265. Out of the 242 people on board, including passengers and crew, 241 perished, with only one passenger miraculously surviving.

Although the plane departed from the airport at 1:38 PM, its journey ended tragically in less than a minute. The aircraft crashed into a dormitory building of the BJ Medical College, located very close to the airport, and exploded. Twenty-four students who were having lunch in the medical college dormitory also died in this accident. Several other injured students are currently hospitalized and receiving treatment.
