Nilgala to become a forest reserve from  tomorrow

The Ministry of Environment says that the Nilgala forest, which extends across the Ampara and Monaragala districts, will be officially declared a reserve tomorrow (02).

The inaugural ceremony for designating the Nilgala forest as a reserve sanctuary is scheduled to take place tomorrow (02) morning at the Rathugala Indigenous Heritage Center in Bibile, under the patronage of Environment Minister Dr. Dhammika Pathirana, and its organization is being handled by the Department of Forest Conservation.
