The 60th anniversary of the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP), considered one of the oldest political parties in the country’s politics, was held yesterday (14) at the Viharamahadevi Open Air Theatre in Colombo.

Accordingly, the 60th-anniversary celebration of the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna was held under the patronage of the leader of the Front and current President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, and Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya, the General Secretary of the party Tilvin Silva, and many party representatives joined this occasion.
The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna party was started by Rohana Wijeweera on a day like yesterday in May 1965.
