The Prisons Media Spokesperson, Gamini B. Dissanayake, stated that a special state pardon has been granted to 388 imprisoned individuals for today’s (12) Vesak Day.

The Prisons Media Spokesperson mentioned that the special state pardon has been granted according to the powers vested in the President by Article 34 of the Constitution. Accordingly, a special state pardon has been granted to 388 inmates under certain regulations and conditions.

The Prisons Media Spokesperson further stated that this group includes 04 female inmates and 384 male inmates.
