Sale of meat and liquor prohibited  for three days due to Vesak

The Government Information Department has issued a notification stating that meat stalls, gambling boots, casinos, social clubs, and liquor stores across the island will be closed for Vesak week.

Vesak week has been designated from May 10th to May 16th. Accordingly, slaughterhouses, meat stalls, and liquor Stores Island wide will be closed for three days: May 12th, 13th, and 14th.

Furthermore, the sale of meat in supermarkets will be prohibited, and the government has instructed that race booths, casinos, and social clubs be closed.
