The latest data report released by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority states that 174,608 tourists arrived in the country last April.
According to this report, the total number of tourists who have arrived in the country from the beginning of this year up to the end of April is 896,884. It also mentions that in April 2024, the number of tourist arrivals was 148,867, and in comparison, April of this year saw a 17.3 percent increase in tourist arrivals.

The report further states that India recorded the highest number of tourist arrivals in April, continuing the trend, with 38,744 visitors. In addition, significant numbers of tourists arrived from the United Kingdom (17,348), Russia (13,525), and Germany (11,654).
