According to the results of the 2025 local government elections, opposition leader Sajith Premadasa, leader of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya, states that the people have sent a message for the opposition to unite and work together.

The opposition leader further mentioned that he and his party are ready to act according to the message given by the people.
