The election for the local government bodies this time is scheduled to commence tomorrow (06) at 7:00 AM, and the Election Commission states that the work of setting up the relevant polling stations began yesterday (05) morning.
During this election, which is being held for 339 local government bodies, seventeen million one hundred fifty-six thousand three hundred thirty-eight (17,156,338) voters are eligible to cast their votes this time, and voting is scheduled to take place until 4:00 PM at 13,759 centers island-wide.

The Chairman of the Election Commission, R. M. A. L. Rathnayake, states that all arrangements for holding the election have been prepared by now, and that government officials participating in election duties must definitely be present for it.
