The Ministry of Foreign Employment and Tourism stated that a team of senior European Union officials is scheduled to arrive in the country today (28).

The Ministry of Foreign Employment and Tourism mentioned that the team of officials is scheduled to arrive in the country to review Sri Lanka’s progress in implementing 27 international conventions related to the EU’s GSP+ tax concession, also known as the Generalized Scheme of Preferences Plus.

A group of European Union seniors is scheduled to arrive in the country today

The Ministry of Foreign Employment and Tourism further stated that the team of senior European Union officials arriving in the country is scheduled to stay until May 7th, during which time they will hold discussions with several politicians, government officials, civil society organizations, and trade unions.

The Ministry of Foreign Employment and Tourism further mentioned that the European Union, with exports worth 3 billion US dollars in 2024, is the country’s second-largest export destination.
