Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Vijitha Herath will represent the Government of Sri Lanka at the funeral of His Holiness Pope Francis to be held on 26 April 2025 in Saint Peter’s Square, Vatican City.

Minister Vijitha Herath, representing Sri Lanka at the funeral ceremony of His Holiness Pope Francis, held today at St. Peter’s Square in Vatican City, paid his final respects to His Holiness’s body, which was laid to rest at St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican, this morning.
