Reports indicate that the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has obtained a 90-day detention order to further question former State Minister Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan, also known as ‘Pillayan’.

Pillayan alias Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan was arrested on the 8^th in Batticaloa in connection with an investigation into the disappearance of a university vice-chancellor in the Eastern Province in 2006.
