“Ramadan festival is today”
The Ramadan festival, celebrated with great enthusiasm by Islamic devotees, falls on today the 31st of March 2025.
The Colombo Grand Mosque announced last night that the Ramadan festival will be celebrated today due to the sighting of the new moon.
Following the end of the month-long Ramadan fast and the sighting of the new moon, Islamic devotees celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr, also known as Ramadan Day.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education has decided to grant a holiday to Muslim schools tomorrow (01) for the Ramadan festival.
