Saudi government’s annual donation of dates continues this year too

It has been reported that the Saudi Arabian government donated 50,000 kilograms of dates for the consumption of the Islamic devotees in the country during the Ramadan period.

This stock of dates was ceremonially handed over by the Saudi Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Khalid bin Hamoud Al-Kahtani, to the Minister of Buddha Sasana, Religious, and Cultural Affairs, Dr. Hiniduma Sunil Seneviratne, during an official event held in Colombo yesterday morning (27).

The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Foreign Employment and Foreign Affairs Arun Hemachandra, Deputy Minister of National Integration Mohamed Muneer Mullafer, Deputy Speaker Dr. Rizvi Sally, and several other dignitaries.
