For the sea areas off the coast that extend from Colombo to Kankesanthurai via Puttalam, the Department of Meteorology has issued a “Amber” advisory.
The alert, which was issued this morning at 8:00 a.m. (12), will be in effect for the next twenty-four hours, until Monday at 8:00 a.m. (13).

Accordingly, the advice warns that there will be severe gusty winds of up to 50–60 kmph in the sea areas off the coasts that extend from Colombo to Kankasanthurai to Puttalam.
Thus, the fishing and naval communities are asked to pay attention to this.
