“The IMF has no objection to increasing the salaries of public sector employees”
Deputy Minister of Labour Mahinda Jayasinghe stated that a significant salary increase for public sector employees is expected in the upcoming budget.
The Deputy Minister made this statement in response to a question raised by Member of Parliament Ravi Karunanayake today (09) in Parliament.
He also mentioned that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has no objections to increasing public sector salaries.
