Two individuals have been arrested in the Madampe and Wennappuwa areas for possessing four rare Valampuri conch shells that were intended for sale.
Officers from the police Special Task Force (STF) Puttalam camp made the arrest during a raid, according to the the police.

Police say the suspects, aged 41 and 42 years old, live in the Madampe and Wennappuwa areas.
The suspects have reportedly been handed over to the Karuwalagaswewa Wildlife Office for a further investigation.
