During a special operation off Delft Island yesterday (08), the Sri Lanka Navy and Coast Guard captured two Indian trawlers and arrested eight Indian fishermen who  were poaching in Sri Lankan waters.

Considering the effect that foreign fishing trawlers’ illicit activities have on local fishermen’s livelihood, the Navy continues to patrol and operate in Sri Lankan waters on a regular basis.
