After intense rain, two sluice gates of Kandy’s Polgolla Reservoir have been opened.

The two sluice gates were opened by one meter each, according to the engineer on duty at the Sri Lanka Mahaweli Authority.

The Mahaweli Authority added that each sluice gate releases approximately 140 cubic meters of water per second into the Victoria Reservoir.
