Authorities report the potential resurgence of measles cases in some areas since 2023, despite Sri Lanka’s measles eradication.
Since the risk of contracting measles is quite high before this age, the vaccine is typically administered to infants at 9 months of age.
Health officials also warn that those who have only had one dose of the vaccination or have not had it are still vulnerable to contracting the disease.
