The deadline for the presidential contenders to submit in their expense reports is scheduled to end today ( 13) at 3:00 p.m.
The Regulation of Election Expenditure Act stipulates that expense reports have to be provided 21 days after the election is ended.
“When the deadline nears, only 18 presidential contenders submit expenses reports.”
Only 18 of the 38 candidates who contested in the recently concluded presidential election, stated to the Election Commission, submitted in expenditure reports.
The Election Commission stated that they believe the other contenders will have submitted in their expenditure reports by the end of the day.
Additionally, they stated that any candidates who disregard the Election Expenditure Regulation Act’s reporting obligations will face legal action.
