With effect from yesterday (10), the National Police Commission approved the reappointment of former Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shani Abeysekera to the Police Service on a one-year contract basis.

Abeysekera, who left service three years ago, is expected to lead of the police department’s newest assets recovery unit.
