The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 began yesterday in the United Arab Emirates Originally scheduled to be held in Bangladesh, the tournament was relocated to the UAE, with matches taking place at two iconic venues: Sharjah Cricket Stadium and Dubai International Stadium. The tournament will run until October 20, when the final will be played.

The tournament was kicked off with the opening match between Bangladesh and Scotland at Sharjah where Bangladesh 119 for 7 beat Scotland 103 for 7 on followed by a second match on the same day featuring Pakistan vs Sri Lanka where Pakistan 116 all out beat Sri Lanka 85 for 9 in their 20 overs. Today’s matches will be between South Africa and the West Indies and followed by India vs West Indies
The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals on October 16 and 17. The tournament will culminate in the final on October 20 at the Dubai International Stadium. The T20 Women’s World Cup got under way in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates yesterday with the finals on the 20th of October.
