The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) has announced that the QR system will be reintroduced for petrol vehicles starting from midnight tomorrow (18).

The Chairman of the CPC, D.J. Rajakaruna, stated that the previous fuel quotas will be reactivated accordingly.

The CPC further explained that the QR system for petrol vehicles had been temporarily suspended from the 11th of this month until tomorrow due to the New Year season. During this period, an “odd-even” number plate system was implemented for petrol vehicles, while the QR system remained strictly in effect for diesel vehicles. Following this temporary measure, the CPC confirmed that the QR system will be fully active for all vehicles starting from tomorrow midnight.
