According to a complaint lodged today (11) by the Presidential Secretary regarding an investigation into coal imports since 2009, it is reported that special police security has been deployed at the Lanka Coal Company office.

The Presidential Secretary submitted this complaint taking into account facts raised in audit reports as well as within Parliament, suggesting that irregularities have occurred during the process of importing coal to Sri Lanka.
