The Chairman of the Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB), Sajeewa Nandana Kanagaratne, states that the special bus service launched for the Sinhala and Hindu New Year will operate in two phases.

Kanagaratne noted that the service will facilitate travel from Colombo to outstation areas and vice versa. Accordingly, the first phase—operating from Colombo to rural areas—will run continuously from the 8th until the afternoon of the 13th. The second phase, catering to those returning to Colombo from outstation areas, will operate from April 15th to April 21st.
