The Excise Department has issued a notice regarding the closure of licensed liquor establishments during the New Year season. According to the announcement, all liquor outlets across the island must remain closed on the 13th and 14th in view of the Sinhala and Tamil New Year.

The department further requests the public to use the hotline 1913 to contact its operations room to report any excise or tobacco-related offenses committed during this period.
