World Buddhist Peace Conference held in Hyderabad

The 2026 World Buddhist Peace Conference was held on the 27th in Hyderabad, the capital of India’s Telangana State, in collaboration with the renowned Buddhavanam Project.

The Minister of Buddhasasana, Religious, and Cultural Affairs, Dr. Hiniduma Sunil Senevi, participated as the Chief Guest. Representing the Indian Government, the Honorable Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Archaeology of Telangana, Jupally Krishna Rao, attended alongside several distinguished scholars.

The Secretariat of the conference was held by the world-renowned Vietnamese monk, Dr. Thich Nhat Tu, while popular Bollywood actor Gagan Malik served as the Chief Organizer. Researchers from 23 countries presented their papers at the event. Venerable Agrahare Kassapa Thero and the Chairperson of the Siddhivinayak Cine Arts Foundation, Ms. Kaushalya Wickramasinghe, also accompanied the Minister.
