The Chairman of the National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB), Chandana Bandara, addressing the media, stated that water consumption has risen significantly due to the prevailing dry weather conditions.

Bandara further noted that if the dry spell continues, the board may have to limit water distribution. Therefore, he urged the public to use water sparingly whenever possible.
